Boya Lake is my favorite camp site to date. (By far).

I woke up at first light and despite the frigid temperature which was down to 3 C (that’s like 38 in Brexits) I could not wait to get up and out of my sack and see the sun rise. I didnt want to miss a second of it. I tried to make coffee on my little stove but the compressed gas froze! I made a fire, bundled up and boiled water on the fire.

The sun rise did not disappoint.

With the sun up, the sleeping bear came out of his cave and we went for a little hike. We followed a trail about 2 miles through the woods and over a hill where we found a beaver dam.

Along the way we learned the answer to the much asked question, “do bears shit in the woods?”.

And saw some interesting flora and fauna and Chris went all David Attenborough on me.

Eventually, we mounted up on the trusty triples and headed down 37 towards Meziadin Lake.

Guess what? The roads were amazing, the scenery was breathtakingly gorgeous. This day was a day for riding, we did of course take a few pictures, but mostly we just enjoyed the road, the hum of the engines and the freedom that only a motorcycle can deliver.

Meziadin Lake was a good enough camp site and we crashed early after eating some sausages which could easily have been something that a bear did in the woods.

Next stop…..ALASKA!
